Being based in nearby Sutton, we’re always receiving visits from Wimbledon residents who have heard about our stellar reputation and the stunning products our joinery company supplies and installs for both residential and commercial clients – which include front doors, internal doors, plantation shutters, timber windows, sash windows and door hardware.
So on this page, for the benefit of prospective clients in this area, we’ve looked to answer some common questions to help you better understand our product and service offerings.
Are you an accredited joinery company?
We certainly are. We are FENSA registered and a member of the government-backed Competent Persons scheme. On top of this, we’re a member of Checkatrade where we enjoy a perfect score in all categories of: reliability and time keeping, tidiness, courtesy and workmanship over the course of 197 reviews left by clients in Wimbledon and its surrounds. This accreditation and reputation grants customers peace of mind, knowing that whether they’re investing in front doors, internal doors, plantation shutters, timber windows, sash windows or simply some new door hardware – they’ll get incredible products, and an equally impressive service!
How long have you been established?
LDS Joinery was set-up back in 2011, with the establishment of a workshop and showroom in Sutton – a short drive from nearby Wimbledon, and well worth the trip if you’d like to see examples of our amazing hand-crafted products first hand.
What kinds of front doors do you manufacture and install?
We have a range covering the most sought after, premium materials, specifically: timber and composite. Each is entirely customisable in regards to style, colour and featured door hardware. If you’re unsure what type of front doors will best suit your particular Wimbledon property, don’t hesitate to call us for advice.
Are timber windows still a viable modern option?
Certainly, especially when designed, built and fitted by a joinery company that knows what they’re doing! In fact, timber windows can offer certain advantages over alternatives like uPVC, for example. Timber windows are more environmentally friendly, and can last a longer time when properly cared for. They’re also the only real choice for certain period properties around Wimbledon, in which synthetic materials would look out of place.
Who carries out your installation?
We handle it in-house as part of our start-to-finish service. While some suppliers, especially online suppliers, expect you to find a contractor capable of fitting products such as front doors, internal doors, plantation shutters, timber windows, sash windows and door hardware, we refuse to take this route. Why? Because we want to ensure our products are properly fitted and will thus enjoy a long lifespan, and both look and work their very best. Seamless, professional installation is a way to achieve this.
What kinds of plantation shutters do you supply and fit in Wimbledon properties?
All the popular varieties, including:
Information on how they differ can be found over on our dedicated plantation shutters page.
What are sash windows?
Made-up of one or more moving panels, sash windows slide open and contain either a single sheet of glass, or panels; the latter style of sash windows are especially popular amongst our Wimbledon clients.
